Refund policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
At Tabletop Commons, we want customers to receive the correct products in the condition reasonably expected. This policy explains when products may be returned, exchanged or refunded.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products
If a product is faulty, damaged in transit, materially different from its description or incorrectly supplied, contact us as soon as possible.
Please provide:
- Your order number;
- A description of the problem; and
- Clear photographs of the product, packaging and shipping label where relevant.
We may ask you to return the product so that we can assess the issue. Where Australian Consumer Law applies, we will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include a repair, replacement or refund.
For a major failure, you may be entitled to choose a replacement or refund. For a minor failure, we may choose to repair or replace the product within a reasonable time.
Where a return is required because a product is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, Tabletop Commons will cover reasonable return-delivery costs.
Sealed trading card products
Sealed trading card game products are not eligible for change-of-mind returns, exchanges or refunds due to the risk of opening, resealing, tampering, product substitution and fraud.
This includes products such as:
- Booster packs;
- Booster boxes and displays;
- Collector products;
- Bundles;
- Prerelease packs;
- Starter decks;
- Commander decks;
- Elite Trainer Boxes; and
- Other factory-sealed trading card products.
This exclusion applies even when the product remains sealed. It does not affect your rights where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee under Australian Consumer Law.
Minor packaging variations or cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the contents or intended use of a sealed product may not constitute a major failure.
Individual trading cards
Individual trading cards, commonly called “singles,” are not eligible for change-of-mind returns, exchanges or refunds due to the risk of substitution, tampering, handling damage and changes in market value.
Before purchasing, customers should carefully review the product name, set, printing, language, finish and any condition information displayed on the product page.
If you receive the wrong card, or the card is materially different from its description or condition, contact us so that we can assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
Change-of-mind returns for eligible non-TCG products
Eligible non-TCG products may be returned within 14 days of purchase or delivery for change of mind.
Eligible products may include:
- Board games;
- Miniatures;
- Hobby tools;
- Paints;
- Brushes;
- Dice;
- Sleeves;
- Deck boxes; and
- Other gaming accessories.
To qualify, the product must:
- Be unopened, unused and in its original condition;
- Include its original packaging, accessories and documentation;
- Be accompanied by valid proof of purchase;
- Be returned within 14 days; and
- Not be a clearance, special-order or otherwise excluded product.
Approved change-of-mind returns will be provided as an exchange or store credit. Cash refunds or refunds to the original payment method are not ordinarily offered for change-of-mind returns.
Customers are responsible for change-of-mind return-delivery costs. Original shipping charges are not refundable for a change-of-mind return.
We recommend using a tracked return-delivery service. Tabletop Commons is not responsible for a change-of-mind return until it is received by us.
Preorders and embargoed products
Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before dispatch. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
Some preorder products are subject to supplier or publisher embargoes and cannot be dispatched before their official release date. A change to an estimated release date does not affect your right to cancel the preorder before dispatch.
Once a preorder has been dispatched:
- Sealed TCG products and individual cards are not eligible for change-of-mind returns; and
- Eligible non-TCG products are subject to the change-of-mind conditions in this policy.
Australian Consumer Law continues to apply to faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially misdescribed preorder products.
Orders containing preorder and available products
If an order contains both preorder and currently available products, the entire order may be held until all items are available for dispatch.
Customers who want available products sent separately should place separate orders or contact us. Additional shipping charges may apply to split deliveries.
If a customer cancels only the preorder portion before dispatch, any remaining available products may still be dispatched. We will confirm any resulting shipping arrangements or charges before proceeding.
Shipping damage
All shipped orders include tracking through Australia Post.
If a parcel arrives visibly damaged:
- Photograph the external packaging before opening it where practicable.
- Photograph the damaged product and its internal packaging.
- Retain all packaging while the matter is being assessed.
- Contact us with your order number and photographs.
We will communicate with Australia Post where an investigation is required. Carrier investigations can take time, but we will keep you informed of material updates.
A carrier investigation does not limit any remedy to which you are entitled under Australian Consumer Law.
Missing or delayed parcels
If tracking shows that a parcel is delayed or has not arrived, contact us with your order number after checking the Australia Post tracking information.
We will assist by contacting Australia Post and lodging an enquiry or investigation where appropriate. Delivery timeframes in our Shipping and Delivery Policy are estimates and may be affected by public holidays, severe weather, regional delivery conditions and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If a parcel is confirmed lost, we will provide an appropriate replacement or refund.
Incorrect delivery addresses
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
If you notice an error before dispatch, contact us immediately. We will assist with changing the address where reasonably possible.
Once an order has been dispatched, we may be unable to amend or redirect it. We will nevertheless try to assist through our Australia Post contacts. Any additional delivery costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address may be payable by the customer where permitted by law.
Parcels returned to Tabletop Commons
If a parcel is returned to us for any reason, we will contact you using the details provided with the order.
You may request that the order be:
- Sent again;
- Held for local pickup; or
- Cancelled and fully refunded.
If you request cancellation after the parcel has been returned, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.
If you request redelivery, we will advise you of any additional shipping charge before sending the parcel again. Additional charges may apply where the parcel was returned because of an incorrect address, failure to collect it or another circumstance outside our control.
Local pickup orders
Local pickup orders should not be collected until you receive confirmation that the order is ready.
Eligible non-TCG products collected from the store may be returned under the same 14-day change-of-mind conditions described in this policy.
Sealed TCG products and individual cards remain excluded from change-of-mind returns, including when purchased or collected in person.
Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before collection or dispatch.
Starting a return
Before returning any product, contact Tabletop Commons for return instructions.
Please provide:
- Your name;
- Order number;
- Product being returned;
- Reason for the return; and
- Photographs where the product is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.
Products returned without prior contact may take longer to process. Do not send returns cash-on-delivery unless we have agreed to that arrangement in advance.
Returns should be directed to:

Refund processing
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless another remedy has been agreed.
After a refund is processed, the time required for it to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider. Original delivery charges will be included where required by Australian Consumer Law or where this policy expressly provides a full refund.
Proof of purchase
Proof of purchase may include:
- An order-confirmation email;
- A tax invoice or receipt;
- The email address associated with the order; or
- Another record that reasonably demonstrates the purchase was made from Tabletop Commons.
