Pricing Policy

At Tabletop Commons, we're players first.

We built this store because we love tabletop games. Whether you play Magic, Flesh and Blood, Warhammer or something else entirely, our goal has always been the same: build a great local community and get games into the hands of the people who actually want to play them.

Trading card games are a little different to most retail products. Allocations change, distributor pricing moves, and market demand can swing wildly before and after release. Rather than pretend prices never change, we'd rather be upfront about how we price products and the principles we follow.

Preorders & Prerelease

Our preorder prices may change throughout the preorder period as allocations are confirmed and market conditions change.

Where possible, we'll release stock in stages rather than making our entire allocation available at once. This helps us manage limited allocations fairly and gives more customers the opportunity to secure product.

Our Preorder Promise

When you preorder with us, the price you pay is locked in.

If our advertised price is higher on the product's release date, you keep the lower price you originally paid.

If our advertised price is lower on the product's release date than the price you paid, we'll automatically issue a store credit for the difference. Credits are generally processed within 24 hours of release.

This promise is based on our advertised price on the product's official release date. Temporary price changes during the preorder period won't affect your preorder.

We Honour Our Preorders

We will never cancel a valid preorder simply because the market price has increased.

If we've accepted your preorder and receive sufficient stock from our distributor to fulfil it, we'll honour the price you paid.

The only exception is where our allocation is reduced by the manufacturer or distributor and we genuinely don't receive enough stock. If that happens, affected customers will be contacted as soon as possible and offered a full refund.

Purchase Limits

Some products will have purchase limits.

These limits exist for one reason: to give as many genuine players and collectors as possible the chance to buy product at release.

Purchase limits may apply per customer, household, shipping address, payment method, or any combination of these. Orders placed to intentionally bypass these limits may be cancelled and refunded.

Pickup Only Products

Occasionally we'll make certain products available for in-store pickup only.

This is most common for products intended for organised play, such as Magic: The Gathering Prerelease Packs. We'd much rather see those products being used at prerelease events than disappearing straight into the secondary market.

Where a product is listed as Pickup Only, it won't be available for shipping.

Preorder Cancellations

You can cancel a preorder for a full refund at any time before your order has been packed for dispatch.

Once an order has entered our shipping process, our standard Refund Policy applies.

After Release

Once a product has been released, prices may increase or decrease depending on availability and market demand.

Where we can, we'll price products at or below RRP. Some products, particularly limited releases or products with exceptionally high demand, may sell above RRP simply because replacement stock costs more or isn't available.

We review our prices regularly and aim to remain competitive, but we don't offer a formal price-match guarantee.

If you think we've missed the mark, get in touch. We're always happy to have a conversation and we'll do our best to find a fair outcome.

Our Philosophy

We're not interested in chasing every market spike or making a quick dollar from hype.

We'd rather build long-term relationships with players who trust us to treat them fairly.

That means:

  • We honour our preorder prices.
  • We don't cancel orders because the market moved.
  • We support organised play.
  • We use purchase limits to give more people access to sought-after products.
  • We do our best to price products fairly while keeping a healthy local game store running.

At the end of the day, cards are meant to be played.

Thanks for supporting a local game store that puts its community first.
